In working with each patient, we strive for the best treatment results. And quality treatment begins with a quality examination! Therefore, the equipment of our clinic with diagnostic equipment meets the latest AAS radiologic technology and all safety requirements.
Thanks to the diagnostic capabilities of our computer and radiological equipment, the clinic’s team of specialists instantly performs all the necessary examinations, obtaining digital radiographs of patients, which speeds up the treatment process. Technology helps us diagnose in all three dimensions, which in turn allows us to predict the result even before the start of treatment.
The Stellar Career College offers the most innovative technologies for patient examination. Microscopes, x-rays, a 3D panoramic imaging system and other equipment are all designed to help our doctors perform all the necessary examinations on site, and our patients save time and receive a dental treatment program with maximum comfort.
Although the x-rays used in conventional oral radiology technician are relatively small and a strict patient and physician protection protocol is followed to protect patients from exposure, some patients avoid these examinations for safety reasons.
Therefore, as in most modern clinics, Stellar Career College uses high-tech digital radiographic equipment for diagnosis .
Digital radiographic studies in dentistry
The physical process of digital radiography is similar to a traditional dental x-ray examination, which uses x-ray film. Using both the traditional method and digital radiography, the dentist inserts a transducer into the oral cavity in order to obtain an image of the necessary anatomical structures (teeth, roots, etc.). But here, too, the similarities between conventional and digital dental radiography end. The digital sensor is electronic and is connected to a computer. The resulting image is projected onto a screen where the dentist can immediately evaluate it.
Benefits of digital dental radiography
1. Less radiation
The equipment used in digital radiography exposes dental patients to much less radiation. Digital radiography uses up to 90 percent less radiation than film x-rays. Although the radiation used in traditional dental examinations is relatively low, digital radiography is an excellent option for patients who need regular examinations or are particularly concerned about unwanted radiation.
2. The speed of the survey
When using conventional X-rays for dental examinations, it is necessary to wait for the film to develop. With digital radiography, the sensor almost instantly forms an image and projects it on the doctor’s computer screen.
3. Quality of examination
Digital radiography provides higher quality images, while the size of traditional films can make exam evaluation difficult. Digital radiography, on the other hand, allows you to enlarge the image on the screen for a more accurate analysis of tissue structure. The brightness, contrast and color of the image can be adjusted so that the dentist can see the smallest details. If you need a printed copy of the exam, you can also print digital images.
4. Sending survey results
Digital images can be emailed to a specialist for immediate review. Digital examination results save the money and time required to copy files and send them to another dentist, making it easier to refer exams or get another opinion. As more and more clinics use electronic patient records, the computerized system completely eliminates the need for repeat examinations.
5. Eco-friendly
Digital radiography does not use chemicals to make films and does not require the storage of thousands of films.
Computed (digital) tomography
Computed tomography combines classical x-ray technology with a computer system that processes information. It uses technology that allows you to take hundreds of pictures of your head. Computer programs then read, interpret, and even create virtual models based on these images.
Computed tomography in our clinic allows you to create three-dimensional models instead of the usual two-dimensional images. The doctor can look at each tooth from any angle – even in the case of a transverse section of the tooth, to look inside its structure.
Our team will provide a high-quality examination, on the basis of which the doctor will draw up a treatment plan and together we will achieve the best therapeutic and aesthetic results!
Computed tomography, in addition to dental implantology, provides information on:
- When planning orthodontic treatment;
- To assess damage to the maxillary joint;
- For the diagnosis of jaw tumors;
- To determine the presence of abnormal neoplasms;
- For the diagnosis of periodontal diseases;
- To examine patients who have undergone trauma;
- When planning treatment for sleep apnea.
- For 3-D X-rays.
The 3D imaging system is a completely new dimension in diagnostic tests. It is state-of-the-art dental technology that delivers the highest image quality with one of the lowest radiation doses. With this technology, our doctors can use diagnostic information to determine the presence of problems such as caries, anomalies, sinus problems, apnea or nerve damage, conditions that are not clearly visible on a traditional 2D image.
3D imaging capabilities mean more accurate and natural restoration options.
The 3D imaging system allows us to measure bone density, which is important for dental implant placement. To determine if you are suitable for dental implants, the dentist must evaluate the thickness and quality of the jaw bone. Using the 3D scan, the doctor will also be able to measure the thickness of your bone structure to determine what size dental implants are appropriate for your clinical situation. The more information your dentist has, the better you will feel and the better your implants will look!
How does 3-D x-ray work?
During a digital radiographic examination on a panoramic 3-D X-ray, the patient must remain still for approximately 14 seconds while the device takes approximately 200 images. It then takes about 2-3 minutes for the computer to process the data, which will then provide the dentist with high resolution images and you with a successful treatment result!
