Express Entry Draw – Latest Figures

Date:

Canada is a wonderful country and a land of fresh opportunities for immigrants. We all know that this country invites a lot of immigrants every year. The country is not just a paradise for foreign investors but also for foreign workers.

Canada brings in a certain number of immigrants every year, called the Express Entry Draw. The Express Entry Draw is one of the most popular ways to enter this country. The last draw was on November 23, 2022, which brought 50% more applicants than the previous draw. To understand this in detail, we have outlined the requirements, factors, and process of the ever-popular Express Entry to Canada and the latest figures.

The government has released the latest figures indicating the number of applications received in the November draw. As per the information, the number of applications received under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) stands at 4751. The CRS cut-off for the draw stands at 491.

Recent Glitch Updates on Express Entry Draw

Many students hoping to apply for the latest Express Entry Draw faced glitches on the website due to an issue with IT servers after an update of the NOC 2021 implementation. The website was not working properly. Many students could not submit their applications, which caused a lot of frustration and inconvenience for them. The staff was not able to process the applications during that time, and as a result, many students missed the deadline.

An Overview of Express Entry Draw

The Express Entry System manages applications for Canada’s three main economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Candidates are ranked against each other using a points-based system, and the highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence through regular draws.

The latest figures show that the minimum points score required to be invited to apply increased slightly from 471 points to 491 points.

The increase in the number of invitations and the points required is an indication that Express Entry is becoming more competitive.

How Does Express Entry Draw Work?

The Express Entry Draw is a way for the Canadian government to choose skilled workers who will be allowed to live and work in the country permanently. It is open to anyone who meets the eligibility requirements and has been invited to apply. The draw is held periodically, and the number of candidates invited to apply is based on the number of positions available. There are three main steps in the Express Entry Draw:

  • Candidates create an online profile and are scored based on their age, education, work experience, language skills, and other factors.
  • The shortlisted names are placed in a pool of eligible candidates and are ranked against each other based on their scores.
  • The Canadian government invites the highest-ranking candidates to apply for permanent residence.

When Is the Next Express Entry Draw?

The next Express Entry Draw was scheduled to take place on December 5 and December 6, 2022. It was supposed to be the final draw of the year. However, the draw was suspended due to glitches on the website and will now be held in January 2023. Candidates will have to wait until next month to apply for the program.

Targeted Popular Occupations in 2023

There are a few popular occupations that the Express Entry Draw will target in 2023. Some of these occupations include:

  • Software engineers
  • IT professionals
  • Accountants
  • Financial analysts
  • Healthcare professionals

The government is looking to target these occupations because they are in high demand, and there is a shortage of workers. The government hopes to attract more skilled workers to Canada by targeting these occupations.

Tips for a Good CRS Score in Express Entry Draw

  • Make sure you are eligible for one of the Express Entry programs, i.e. Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, or Canadian Experience Class. If you are not eligible for any of these programs, you will not be able to receive an Invitation to Apply through Express Entry.
  • Ensure that you have strong language proficiency in either English or French. The higher your language scores, the higher your CRS score will be.
  • Try to obtain as much work experience as possible in your field of expertise.

Following these tips can improve your chances of receiving a high CRS score and being selected in an Express Entry draw.As the government’s immigration policy changes, the Express Entry draw system continues to evolve. The latest draw has ended, and it has been successful until the last glitch. For the uninitiated, the draw is held every week and is the fastest way to immigrate. If you need professional assistance to apply for a Canada tourist visa or PR visa through Express Entry, you can hire an immigration consultant.
