Air and water are the two most crucial fluids for life on earth to sustain. Many places on earth have faced severe droughts. Some sites have faced something called day Zero. Zero Day or Day Zero was the final day when the entire usable water was gone. Here comes the great invention that saved millions of lives worldwide. The Water filter systems. These water filter systems were a savior for all those countries, states, or cities with ample water but not in potable form. This is the situation with almost all the places across the world.
Potable drinking water is a basic need and a human being’s natural right, as recognized by the United Nations Human Rights Commission. This is because it was evident from times immemorial and looking at the world’s great civilizations, the Indus Valley Civilization, the Chinese Civilization, The Mesopotamian Civilization, or The Egyptian Civilization.
One common factor among all these great civilizations that once flourished and thrived with glory is WATER. Yes, all these civilizations are founded on the banks of one river. Be it the mighty Indus River, the Euphrates River, or the Lifeline of Egypt, the Nile.

In these great civilizations, river water was in its purest form, is what one would think. But, few of the shreds of evidence prove that they had some of the most sophisticated water storing and purification systems, such as the sedimentation tanks, where water stagnated. Then the impurities accumulated at the bottom, thus making the water clear of all the dirt. This shows that the water purification process is not new to humankind, and the ancestors of humanity, who founded the great civilisations, purify water before consumption.
The great reservoir in Dholavira, one of the Indus Valley Civilization’s cities, is proof of the same. This also showcases their dire need for water. This is because, by looking at the water storage system, one can easily understand that the water was essential for them, and they have realized its importance, which made them store it for future use. The water reservoir system supplied water into the cities for both usages of domestic as well as agriculture. The domestic water used for drinking might have been purified.
Although very scanty evidence was available, some historians believe that the importance given by the Harappan Valley people to health and hygiene proves that they have purified water before usage. The excavation of Mohenjodaro, one of the necessary excavations, revealed the presence of a highly sophisticated underground drainage system that is quoted with a material that prevents the growth of bacteria. This alone is an excellent example of the importance given by the people of the great civilization to hygiene and health.

One can find water all over the earth, yet there is a water shortage in every part of the world. This is because of the insufficient quantity of potable drinking water. Here comes the need for efficient water filter systems that proved to be one of the greatest inventions in history. Many lives have been saved by preventing humans, especially children, from contracting a disease from unclean water.
Therefore, using better water filter systems will keep one healthy, hygienic and active all the time. Save lives by consuming clean potable water. Water should be used very purposefully.
