BeLikeNative is a Chrome extension quill bot ai designed to improve writing efficiency by refining text effortlessly across various platforms. It does not provide a record of the writing process. No underlying dataset, individual outputs, labeling method or calculation was published with the accuracy figures previously shown here. I need a tool that helps me rewrite sentences better.

Therefore, these tools should not be relied upon to provide absolute proof that a text is or isn’t AI-generated. It’s interesting to investigate whether they can sometimes detect these tools anyway, but it’s not fair to include this in the score. However, we excluded the paraphrased human-written texts from this score. Each text was between 1,000 and 1,500 characters long (AI detectors are usually inaccurate with texts any shorter than this). We tested all 12 tools with the same texts and the same scoring system for accuracy.

ChatGPT Plus, Copilot, and Gemini all returned perfect scores. Each was given the following prompt, followed by the text to check. Writer.com is a service that generates AI writing for corporate teams. Ah, well, I guess Undetectable is “humanizing” its results, insofar as it’s living up to the phrase “to err is human.”

  • This protects academic standards, hiring processes, and content quality.
  • The best tools can distinguish between content that’s fully AI-generated, human-written but AI-refined, and completely human-written.
  • I don’t feel that generative AI can match a real author, but handy components like translation and summarization make AI writing tools useful for authors.
  • AI detection and plagiarism checking are related, but they are not the same thing.
  • While AI detectors can help assess whether text appears to be AI-generated, currently there is no AI detector that can conclusively or definitively determine whether AI was used to produce text.

If your result is confusing, get human academic support. Others complain about wrong results, missed detection, confusing AI scores, subscriptions, or poor value. QuillBot may help, but a complete academic review is safer.

Why Most AI Detectors Are Fighting Last Year’s War

It cannot know whether you wrote the first draft, used AI for grammar, copied from ChatGPT, or rewrote the paragraph five times yourself at 2 a.m. The strongest part of QuillBot AI Detector is that it seems good at catching obvious AI-generated text. It is better to use feedback, outlines, and editing support while keeping your own academic voice.

Learn More About AI Detection

We looked mostly at free tools but also included two premium tools with reputations for high accuracy. In terms of the information shown, Writer provides a percentage of “human-generated content” but no highlighting to indicate what content has been labelled AI. They’re both middling options for AI detection that are outperformed by other free tools like QuillBot or Scribbr. Additionally, the tool did have one false positive, identifying a human-written text as AI.

Content that has been through multiple rounds of rewriting can accumulate enough uniformity to read as machine-authored even when the underlying ideas are original. To get a reliable reading from our AI detection software, the quality of the input matters as much as the detection logic. Lexical variation is limited across paragraphs, suggesting a single generation pass rather than multiple revision cycles common in human drafts. Transition phrases such as “furthermore” and “in conclusion” appear at a frequency statistically higher than observed in authentic student writing samples. Rated as reliable but flagged for aggressive detection and false positives Time is money, especially in the fast-paced world of content creation.

Are there detectors you trust more than others for evaluating originality? Have you encountered situations where human-written work was mistakenly flagged as AI? Yep, it not only identified the first block of text as human-written, but it also identified me as the writer. While ChatGPT’s free tier did get one of the blocks of text wrong (the last human-written one), its analysis of the first block of text really freaked me out. Evaluate the following and tell me if it was written by a human or an AI
